Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TICKETS SOLD ONLINE

By accessing and using the Cinema Killarney website the Customer accepts and agrees to be legally bound by the Terms and Conditions and acknowledges that Cinema Killarney, the owner and administrator of the web site, has the right to amend or vary these Terms and Conditions and any of the contents of the web site from time to time at its sole discretion.

PAYMENTS POLICY

Cinema Killarney are only accepting card payments at this time, no cash payments will be accepted in-store.

PURCHASING TICKETS ONLINE

Cinema tickets are sold by Cinema Killarney and can be purchased by the Customer via the online booking system using credit/debit cards.
The main Cinema Killarney ticket types are as follows (which are subject to change):
Child Ticket – applies to children 12 years of age or under;
Teen Ticket – applies to a teenager aged from 13 years to 17 years of age;
Student Ticket – applies to any individual who is a student and has a valid student ID;
OAP Ticket – applies to any individual older than 65 years of age; and
Adult Ticket
Discounted ticket prices do not apply on Bank Holidays.
 
A booking fee of €0.50c per ticket will apply to bookings made availing of the Cinema Killarney internet booking system. This booking fee is the charge for the supply of the online booking service and the processing and verification of payment. If a Customer does not wish to pay this fee, it is possible to purchase tickets at Cinema Killarney in person where the booking fee will not apply.
 
The Customer must inform Cinema Killarney of the cardholders name, card type, the card number, the card expiry date and the security code on the back of the card (CVV or similar) in order to make payment to Cinema Killarney.

PURCHASING TICKETS ONLINE – SECURITY

Tickets purchased online using credit cards are through a secure payment page secured using SSL Security with sha256RSA encryption (Public Key 2048 Bit Encryption).The SSL Certificate is issued by Thawte SSL Encryption.

PURCHASING TICKETS ONLINE – PRIVACY

In order to process a booking and for collection verification, Cinema Killarney collects the following information
• Customer Name
• Card Number
• Expiry Date
• Film Booked including Performance Date and Time
• Email Address
• IP Address
 
This information is used exclusively by Cinema Killarney to process/verify bookings and not for any other purpose. This information is processed in accordance with local law and Cinema Killarney does not share any customer information with Partners or Third Parties.

PRIVACY – COOKIES

Cinema Killarney also makes use of Cookies to improve our customer’s experience when using the website.

PLEASE NOTE: TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERRABLE. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS.
The Customer must ensure all details of the booking are correct before finally purchasing their tickets as Cinema Killarney will accept no responsibility and will not issue a refund for wrong bookings that are the fault of the customer. If the Customer experiences problems with the booking process, they are to call the phone number of the cinema specified on the booking page 
 
By booking tickets through the Cinema Killarney website, the Customer is placing a booking order for tickets on the Terms and Conditions that is deemed only binding on Cinema Killarney once payment has been made by the Customer and received by Cinema Killarney and the Customer has been sent an email confirmation of their booking with their booking details.
 
Once the booking has been processed and the credit card has been verified, the ticket price and the fee are non-refundable.
 
Cinema Killarney will not issue a refund if:
  1. The Customer selects the wrong Cinema Killarney location, film and/or time when booking tickets via the website
  2. The customer is subsequently unable to attend the scheduled show
  3. The Customer does not meet the requirements of the Irish Film Classification Office.
To collect the tickets the Customer must present and use the credit/debit card that was used to purchase the tickets in that particular cinema. The Customer may insert the card into one of the automatic ticket collection points or they can present the card to an Cinema Killarney representative at any till point. Tickets must be collected within the first 10 minutes of the performance start time. 
 
Cinema Killarney will do everything possible to ensure the show and operating times of the cinema are true to the advertisements. Although Cinema Killarney has attempted to provide accurate information on its website, Cinema Killarney assumes no responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of such information. Cinema Killarney may amend the information, products and/or services mentioned on the website at any time without notice. 
 
However due to circumstances beyond Cinema Killarney’s control there may be times that a film has to be cancelled or shown at a different time. In this instance the customer may be given a complimentary ticket or in some circumstances a refund of the ticket only. Cinema Killarney reserves the right to cancel a performance, vary the time of exhibition or substitute an alternative film, if this becomes necessary because of circumstances beyond our control. 
 
Transactions processed by Cinema Killarney will appear on the cardholder’s bank or card statement as ‘Cinema Killarney,’ it will then give the abbreviation of the specific cinema it was booked in.
 
The customer who has purchased concession/student tickets must provide Cinema Killarney with the relevant proof of entitlement when the tickets are being collected or upon entry to the cinema.
 
Cinema Killarney are required to abide by and enforce the age restrictions as specified by the Irish Film Classification Office. In the event that an authorised Cinema Killarney representative is of the opinion that the customer does not meet the minimum age requirement and the customer cannot provide photographic proof that they are of the required age, Cinema Killarney will not permit entry to that performance or film. If an Cinema Killarney representative identifies a customer who appears too young and cannot provide identification in the auditorium, Cinema Killarney have the right to refuse and/or eject that customer from that film. Under 15’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. 
 
The website contains links to third party websites. Access to any other website through a link on the website is at the Customer’s own risk and Cinema Killarney bears no responsibility for the reliability of information, advices, statements, views or security on any links contained on the Cinema Killarney website.
 
The trademarks and logos displayed on the website are the property of Cinema Killarney and the Customer is not permitted to use this IP without the written consent of Cinema Killarney.
 
The Customer acknowledges that although Cinema Killarney will take all reasonable and prudent steps to safeguard the security of any payment card information the Customer imparts though encryption methods, Cinema Killarney shall not be liable for any damage that the Customer may suffer as a result of the loss of confidential information. The Customer acknowledges that Cinema Killarney is entitled to handle any personal information the Customer supplies to Cinema Killarney when booking tickets through the Cinema Killarney website in accordance with Cinema Killarney’s privacy policy.
 
The cancellation rights contained in the “European Communities (Protection of Consumers in respect of contracts made by means of Distance Communication (Reg 2001) as amended) do not apply to the sale of a cinema ticket.
 
Student Tickets – For each Student ticket purchased a valid student ID will be required at the ticket check point. Valid student ID is an ID that has an expiry date which is later than the showing date. Failure to produce a valid student ID will result in customer being refused entry. The tickets will not be refunded or exchanged.
 
Family Tickets – Family ticket can only be purchased by groups of 2 Adults and 2 Children or 1 Adult and 3 Children. Other groups will be refused entry. The tickets will not be refunded or exchanged.
 
Unemployed Rate – A recent social welfare payment receipt is a required document to avail of the unemployed rate offer 
 
Carers Policy – Carers are entitled to free admission to a screening only upon producing a valid HSE Carers Card or Nursing Home Card, when accompanying the cared for person. Public Service ID cards are not acceptable forms of identification. Subject to two weeks ‘Free List Suspended’ and management reserve the right to refuse admission/ not honour the card where they have reason to believe it is misused or outside of the Cinema Killarney terms and conditions.   

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

By accessing and using this cinema premises the customer accepts and agrees to be bound by the below terms and conditions. Customers should check for current terms and conditions as these can be updated and changed at any time. 
 
1. The management reserve the right (with or without cause) to refuse admission to any person.
2. Any patron must, prior to viewing any part of the programme, purchase a ticket from the cashier; this ticket will be accepted as receipt for payment. Customers should retain their tickets while on the cinema’s premises. Tickets should be presented to Cinema Killarney staff on request.
3. Customers should check the details on their tickets and the monetary change they receive. They should also ensure that they enter the correct auditorium. Auditorium numbers are printed on each ticket.
4. A ticket purchased by any patron entitles entrance to these premises only once, and in accordance with the film title, time, date and censor guidelines printed on the ticket. 
5. Tickets will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of management.
6. Lost, stolen or damaged tickets will not be replaced. Any Customer who does not hold a valid ticket may be required to leave. 
7. Customers must at all times remain within the permitted areas of the cinema or as otherwise stated by Cinema Killarney staff or agents, and must not obstruct or place items in the aisles with personal belongings. 
8. Customers must remain in their seats at all times unless leaving the auditorium, and must not obstruct the isles or spaces between the seats during the showing.
9. Cinema Killarney accepts no responsibility for the theft, loss or damage to any personal items brought onto the premises. 
10. Cinema Killarney are required to abide by and enforce the age restrictions as specified by the Irish Film Classification Office. In the event that an authorised Cinema Killarney representative is of opinion that the customer does not meet the minimum age requirement and the customer cannot provide photographic proof that they are of the required age, Cinema Killarney will not permit entry to that performance or film. if an Cinema Killarney representative identifies a customer who appears too young and cannot provide identification in the auditorium, Cinema Killarney have the right to eject that customer from that film.
11. If customers wish to obtain a ticket at a discounted rate they need to specify that before the transaction is processed. The cinema will not issue a refund for full price tickets purchased as a result of not following the above. Photo id may be required to confirm the entitlement.
12. Cinema Killarney reserves the right to request to search patrons and their possessions before entry to an auditorium or whilst on premises. Guests who refuse to cooperate with any such search will be refused entry or removed from the premises (as applicable). Any person found in possession of a weapon, drugs, or other illegal substances will be refused entry and such items may be seized and handed over to the gardai. Personal items deemed to be a potential health and safety risk may be confiscated until the person in possession of such items leaves the premises.
13. Patrons who, in the opinion and determined at the sole discretion of the management, conduct themselves improperly while on these premises, may be required to leave by a member of staff without any entitlement to a refund. Patrons must not engage in any conduct towards, or speak to Cinema Killarney staff, agents or other guests in a manner which may offend, insult, intimidate, threaten, disparage or vilify any person on any basis whatsoever, including but not limited to race, religion, colour, ethnic origin, gender or that person’s physical attributes. Whenever possible, Cinema Killarney will seek to prosecute individuals who behave in this way on our premises.
14. In the event that a patron becomes abusive or unruly they may be barred from entry in the future. Any patron who is believed to be intoxicated will also be asked to leave the premises. The Garda assistance may be sought in such event.
15. Smoking (including any electronic cigarette) is strictly prohibited in the building.
16. The consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the building.
17. Photography and audio/visual recordings are strictly prohibited anywhere in the building.
18. Unauthorised use of mobile phones will leave patrons open to being removed from the auditorium.
19. In the case of an allocated seating performance customers should arrive before the start of the program. The cinema will not be able to guarantee customers their selected seats after the main feature starts.
20. Due to their nature, size or properties, certain items (i.e. backpacks, bags, helmets, sports equipment, toys, and helium balloons) will not be allowed in an auditorium.
21. Food and Drink brought from outside of the cinema may not be consumed on the premises.
22. In the case of a screening cancellation or evacuation which arose as a result of a situation beyond the cinema’s control, customers will be issued with complimentary tickets. Customers must present their original tickets to avail of the complimentary tickets.
23. Cinema Killarney will do everything possible to ensure the show and operating times of the cinema are true to the advertisements. However due to circumstances beyond our control there may be times that a film has to be cancelled or shown at different time. Cinema Killarney are not responsible for material published by third parties containing false or misleading information.
24. Please note: CCTV monitoring takes place within our premises for the protection of IMC staff, guests and property.
25. Cinema Killarney customers should retain their e-ticket or stub in order to re-enter the relevant screen.
26. Cinema Killarney reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time without notice. 
27. Cinema Killarney reserves the right to prevent any patron or group of patrons from breaching these ‘Terms and Conditions’, which may include banning the patrons from the premises or in some cases, taking legal action.
28. These Terms and Conditions and the Customer’s use of the website are governed by Irish Law. Any comments should be sent to the Operations Manager: Astor House, Lower Georges Street, Dun Laoghaire.

These terms and conditions are supplement to the existing general terms and conditions of IMC which are available in store and online. 
 
Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE

Online cinema tickets are sold by Cinema Killarney and can be purchased by the Customer via the online booking system using credit/debit cards.
 
A booking fee of €.50 (as amended from time to time) per ticket per transaction will apply to bookings made availing of the Cinema Killarney booking system.
 
Any products purchased online that are subsequently unavailable in the cinema will be substituted for other products of equal monetary value.
 
In order to book via the Cinema Killarney website, the Customer must disclose the cardholders name, card type, the card number, the card expiry date and the security code on the back of the card (CVV or similar) in order to make payment to Cinema Killarney. The Customer may be requested to enter a Visa or Mastercard 3D secure pin in order to complete a purchase.
 
Cinema Killarney reserves the right to change and amend promotions including, but not limited to, one off special screenings, live events including the MET Opera, the Wednesday Movie Meal Deal, and the Online Thursday offer. 
 
The Customer must ensure all details of the booking are correct before finally purchasing their tickets as no responsibility will be accepted for wrong bookings that are the fault of the customer. If the Customer experiences problems with the booking process, they should email the cinema site by emailing [email protected]
 
To collect the tickets the Customer must present and use the credit/debit card that was used to purchase the tickets in that particular cinema. The Customer may insert the card (or scan the barcode located in the right hand corner of the ticket confirmation) into one of the automatic ticket collection points or they can present the card to a cinema representative at any till point.
 
Once the booking has been processed, the Customer will receive a confirmation e-mail to their e-mail address with all the relevant details of their booking. Cinema Killarney cannot accept any responsibility and will not issue a refund to the Customer for selecting the wrong tickets, wrong date, wrong venue or if the Customer does not meet the minimum age requirements as specified by Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO) for that particular film.
 
Cinema Killarney will do everything possible to ensure the show and operating times of the cinema are true to the advertisements. However due to circumstances beyond Cinema Killarney’s control there may be times that a film has to be cancelled or shown at a different time. In this instance the customer may be given a complimentary ticket or in some circumstances a refund of the ticket purchased.

Cinema Killarney require that children must be of the age of 3 to be permitted into a show, unless it is in regards to a Kids Club or Mother and Child Showing. Cinema Killarney are also required to abide by and enforce the age restrictions as specified by the Irish Film Classification Office. In the event that an authorised Cinema Killarney representative is of the opinion that the customer does not meet the minimum age requirement and the customer cannot provide photographic proof that they are of the required age, Cinema Killarney will not permit entry to that performance or film. If an Cinema Killarney representative identifies a customer who appears too young and cannot provide identification in the auditorium, Cinema Killarney have the right to refuse or eject that customer from that film.
 
We will always try to ensure that performances take place in accordance with the advertised programme. However, we reserve the right to cancel a performance, vary the time of an exhibition or substitute an alternative film if this becomes necessary because of circumstances beyond our control. If this happens we will, at our discretion, refund the cost of the ticket or issue another ticket for the same film on an alternative occasion.
 
The cancellation rights contained in the “European Communities (Protection of Consumers in respect of Contracts made by means of Distance Communication) Regulations 2001” (as may be amended or replaced from time to time) do not apply to the sale of cinema tickets.
 
Cinema Killarney reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.

VIP SEATING

If a patron experiences any issue with their VIP seat or loses a belonging in or around the VIP seat, they should immediately contact a staff member so the seat can be powered off and made safe. At no point should a customer try to retrieve an item in or around the VIP seat, given it is an electric and motorized seat.
 
Patrons should sit in the seat in the standard position and not put their arms or legs on/in-between the seats and should not try to recover any items from underneath their seat. If a patron losses an item under their seat, they must flag this to a member of Cinema Killarney staff who will safely disable the seat and then assist the patron.
